Applewood Smoked Wings with Spicy Toffee BBQ Sauce

These smoky applewood wings are cooked to a crisp and juicy perfection and then coated with a unique blend of tamarind, lemon, black pepper, toffee and chocolate.


As neededMel-Fry® Clear Liquid Fry Shortening
1 tsp.SunGlow® European Butter Blend
½ cupOnion, Minced
1 tsp.Lemon Juice
½ tsp.Ground Black Pepper
1 Tbsp.Sauce Craft Cayenne Pepper Sauce
½ cupTamarind Chutney
1 Tbsp.Toffee Bits with Chocolate, Medium Grind
½ tsp.Chocolate Syrup
20 eachFully Cooked, Applewood Smoked Bone In Wings, Unbreaded, Jumbo
1 Tbsp.Green Onion, Sliced


  1. To make the sauce, place SunGlow® in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add onion and cook until tender.
  2. Stir in Lemon juice, black pepper and hot pepper sauce.
  3. Stir in tamarind chutney, Toffee Bits and Chocolate Syrup.
  4. Simmer for 15 minutes; hold warm.
  5. Fry the wings according to package directions.
  6. In a bowl, toss the wings with the warm sauce.
  7. Garnish with green onion.
